complete strip and conversion of terraced house into two units
Victorian terraced house in a Conservation Area divided up into ground floor flat and maisonette above including converted loft. Ground floor was enlarged by 'fill-in' rear extension. A glazed screen in the stairwell is an indirect daylighting device and also links circulation and living spaces visually. Glazed extension on the ground floor includes a frameless glass end wall looking out onto garden. Full fire proofing and sound insulation between units was provided. Our client, a photographer (now an interior designer) came up with many of the design ideas. builders: John Goudie & Kenny Odart, completed: June 2006, cost: £150,000, photos: Miranda Hudson
