creating a more fluid plan arrangement
The interior of this relatively modern bungalow was originally very segmented, reducing penetration of daylight and lessening awareness of semi-rural surroundings. The plan was opened up to leave a minimum of subdivision and corridors - enabled by fully trussed roof structure. Sunpipes bring natural light into deepest part of plan and open-plan fire in fairface brickwork surround forms the centre-piece of unit separating kitchen from living area. Fit out was largely organised by clients with their builder.
